General Partner Morgan joined Battery in 1996 and focuses broadly on investments in industrial technologies, semiconductors and disruptive hardware/communications markets. His areas of interest encompass late stage private equity investments as well as early stage venture. Morgan’s major investments at Battery include Achronix, Akara (acquired by Ciena), Movius, Nova Analytics, Nova Technologies (acquired by Idex Corp.), Optium (now Finisar, NASDAQ: FNSR), Qtera (acquired by Nortel), and Veraz Networks (NASDAQ: VRAZ). From 1992 to 1996, Morgan was an Officer in the U.S. Air Force where he led two "startup" product efforts. In this role, he gained product management experience in data communication, wireless communication, software and client/server architectures. Prior to the Air Force, he was employed at Loral Data Systems where he developed mission management software for the Japanese Defense Agency. Morgan graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a BS in Engineering Science, received an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and was the recipient of a National Science Foundation fellowship. |
