For nearly 25 years, we have crossed the US and Canada to find the most interesting investment opportunities. Although our US headquarters are in Silicon Valley and Boston, we don’t limit ourselves to West Coast / East Coast investments. We believe that driven entrepreneurs and management teams can be found anywhere. And we believe in helping to build a business where the team wants it to be, not re-locating it to a city that’s convenient for us.
We have certainly backed entrepreneurs in classic North American tech centers — Silicon Valley, Cambridge and Route 128, Atlanta, Research Triangle Park, Austin, Ontario and Quebec. But we have also found talented management teams and the roots of great businesses in out of the way spots such as Bingen, Washington; Boca Raton, Florida; Orem, Utah; Indianapolis, Indiana. And we’ve uncovered and helped to build businesses out of under-the-radar research centers such as University of San Diego, University of Central Florida, Stonybrook University, UMass Amherst and University of Illinois.
