Barry Patterson

Barry joined Battery in 2022 to advise its private-equity portfolio companies, particularly those making acquisitions, on issues relating to financial and strategic planning. Specifically, he works with the portfolio to improve data quality, forecasting, analysis and transaction preparedness.

Barry is a longtime finance professional who most recently ran his own management-consulting practice. In that business he worked primarily with private-equity backed companies, including SPT Labtech, a Battery portfolio investment, to develop financial and growth models, implement financial-planning systems and prepare businesses for exits, among other initiatives.

Before starting his consulting company in 2015, Barry worked in commercial-financial and strategic- advisory roles at companies in the U.K. including HSS Hire, Shop Direct Group, Phones 4u and O2-Telefonica. He started his career as a senior accountant at Deloittes in his native South Africa and also worked as a financial analyst at JP Morgan in London.

Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, with honors, from the University of Natal in South Africa.
