Chelsea focuses on investments in the software sector. She is particularly interested in vertically focused SaaS companies, including the healthcare vertical. Chelsea serves on the boards of ContinuumCloud, Curve Dental, Maxio, Ontra (formerly InCloudCounsel), PageUp, Redox and TrueContext, and she is an investor in Honeybook. Her previous investments include Avalara (NYSE: AVLR), Brightree (acquired by ResMed), ClearCare (acquired by Wellsky), Data Innovations (acquired by Roper Industries), Glassdoor (acquired by Recruit Holdings), Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN), Guidewire (NYSE: GWRE), Intacct (acquired by Sage), Marketo (NASDAQ: MKTO, acquired by Vista Equity Partners), RealPage (NASDAQ: RP) and WebPT (acquired by Warburg Pincus).

Chelsea was named to the Forbes Midas “Hot Prospects” list of up-and-coming venture capitalists, the Business Insider 23 Top Venture Capitalists in Enterprise Tech list and GrowthCap’s Top 25 Healthcare Investors list.

Prior to Battery, she held positions with private-equity firm Key Principal Partners, Accenture and Merrill Lynch. She received a BS with honors in chemical engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She also currently sits on the Northwestern University Engineering School Board, the University of Chicago Booth School Private Equity Council and the Healthcare Technology Advisory Council for the Cleveland Clinic. In addition, Chelsea is on the board of the National Venture Capital Association.
