Andrew Hughes

Andrew leads AI strategy and execution across Battery’s global portfolio, serving as a strategic advisor to help Battery’s companies better implement and leverage AI within their businesses. Specifically, he helps identify high-ROI AI opportunities and establish repeatable playbooks to deploy them; he also advises on technology modernization to drive measurable AI-enabled transformation across the portfolio.

Prior to Battery, Andrew worked at Vista Equity Partners as its executive director of product and technology value creation. He worked extensively within the deal process, applying AI to evaluate R&D capabilities and their impact on key investment criteria. Post-investment, he worked alongside company leaders to leverage AI to transform their products and organizations. Before Vista, Andrew was director of enterprise architecture at Equinox, responsible for architecting and integrating the company’s products, hardware and digital platforms across the various lines of business. Previously, he worked as a consultant in PwC’s advisory group, supporting a broad range of strategic projects, markets and private-equity backed companies.

Andrew received his BS in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
