Joe, a longtime technology marketing executive, startup advisor and three-time CMO, joined Battery in 2025 as an executive-in-residence. In this role, he advises the firm’s portfolio companies on marketing issues and helps evaluate new investments.

Before joining Battery, Joe was the chief marketing officer of Battery-backed Pendo, a user-experience software company. There, he oversaw all aspects of Pendo’s marketing program, including sales development, revenue and demand, brand, content, customer and product marketing, and the company’s freemium strategy. Joe was the executive sponsor of two key acquisitions and generated $1 billion in pipeline.

While at Pendo, Joe was an adviser to several B2B tech companies, including Cube, a Battery portfolio company. Prior to Pendo, he was the CMO of both Robin, a company providing workplace-experience software, and InsightSquared, a provider of technology for sales forecasting and analytics. Prior to that, Joe worked in marketing roles at companies including HubSpot, Eloqua and Progress Kinvey, and before that, in communications roles at agencies including Golin-Haris and Citigate Cunnigham.

Joe has a dual BA/BS degree in Spanish and criminal justice from Westfield State University.
